Read Across America

Don't you just love that face?  We celebrated Read Across America last week in our K/1 classroom... and we had a lot of fun :) Besides making these adorable hats and ties, we also ate some green eggs and ham.  My favorite part?  The kiddos that didn't think they would like green eggs.. and they did ;)
Making these Thing 1 and Thing 2 puppets are one of my favorite activities to do on Dr. Seuss's birthday :) It is easy, and the kids love them!
I found these really cute Dr. Seuss pencil topper erasers, and after printing out a Dr. Seuss quote/picture tag from Cupcake Express, I placed them in a small baggie with their eraser.  Just a cute little something to end the celebration!

St. Patrick's Day is coming up! I have to tell you, The Teacher Wife has a wonderful freebie on TPT about who is worth more to you than gold?  It was a meaningful writing for my kids to complete so they could focus on the important things in life which was their family, friends, even their teacher ;) I loved reading each of them!
In my classroom, we have also been doing a lot of fun book projects.  I wrote up an ending prediction form for each student, and found this wonderful template on TPT of "A Bad Case of Stripes" by David Shannon.  Such a fun book!

I hope you are all having a great March :)

Dr Seuss and Dental Health Month

We celebrated Dr. Seuss this week : ) Check out this cute Thing 1/Thing 2 printable freebie from Learning Together.  My kids loved making these puppets!

I loved finding an adorable pin on Pinterest of these Lorax paper plates... there are many different ways to do this, but we used tissue paper, construction paper, and I cut out their hands for his mustache (their favorite part!)

We also celebrated Dental Health Month during the month of February.. I absolutely love Katie Mense's Teeth and Dental Health Unit, which is full of amazing activities!  My kiddos loved it.

I am finally getting around to laminating more math centers! I recently created a math game that includes a game board and addition and subtraction cards.  My kinders love any type of game.  While they are mastering their skills, they are also learning how to work together as a team.  Check it out on TPT for only $1.50!

Even my sweet pup loves it! ;) Isn't she sweet?

I am so proud of my Kindergarteners.  Look at these beautiful art pieces they are working on? 5 and 6 year olds! Absolutely stunning and I hope they know that I am so proud of them each and everyday.  This is my first year of teaching Kindergarten, and they are just so precious to me.  Kids really are amazing and can do anything ! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
