Happy Easter!

Happy Easter :] I hope you all enjoyed your holiday and spent it with loved ones.  I just finished my Spring Break so I am a bit tired from going back to school today.  I missed the kids though and my set schedule [now I can try to eat healthier!]

Cute bunny picture found on www.cutenessoverflow.com

I want to share first that right before my spring break, we had such a special visitor at our school.  Sweet Hudson [the Railroad Puppy] who was in an "accident" with his sweet brother and sister.  Hudson has a prosthetic leg and will live with that for the rest of his life.  To read more about his story, please visit his facebook page, as I do not know who my audience is and I do not want to reveal any information that is too much for children :]
Hudson and his daddy Mr. Nash make visits all over the area and all he asks is for donations to our local Mohawk Humane Society.  Look at all the donations that my wonderful school provided.  And they kept pouring in! I love animals so much and to be able to share that love and show our children how wonderful of a dog Hudson is meant the world to us.  It teaches children about disabilities and I love that they were so accepting with lots of caring questions to ask Hudson!

My students are developing so much in their reading and writing.  I am so proud of them!  Here are their sneaky E puppets that they made before break too :] We are going to start working on a lot of sneaky E words to reinforce the short vs. long vowel sounds!

If you haven't checked it out, you HAVE to look into Deanna Jump and Deedee Wills' Writing Units for Kindergarten... very worth money, and can be used year after year for your students.  Here is an anchor chart that the students still love referring to with how to writings. :] I love to see themselves as young writers and writing about what interests them!

I also have to share our bulletin board with our Rainforest animals... this freebie can be found HERE and there are so many different ways you can use it! I decided to have each student focus on one part of the rainforest and research it.  They all went by the type of animals that lived there, and LOVED it!

Enjoy your week :] I hope to have a BIG giveaway sometime soon... follow me here and on my facebook page to stay updated!

Happy Easter 2013

Happy Easter to all of my wonderful friends on here! I love and appreciate all of you! I am still recovering from my wisdom teeth extraction so I didn't do much of anything today, but I did reflect on my wonderful life (and appreciate my health!) and the true meaning of Easter.  I hope you all spent the day filled with happiness and surrounded by your loved ones!

I hope you all got to check out the spring sale that sellers were having on TPT and TN.. The end of the quarter for TPT is today, and I did not reach my goal, but I earned 1/3 of my OVERALL earnings since last year.  I am pretty excited about that and how much I am growing - it is all thanks to you wonderful people!
I wanted to share with you what I bought with the sale today - I am a lady on a budget (a very tight budget!) but I couldn't pass over Teaching With a Mountain View's task cards.  I bought her Graphing and Data task cards and her Geometry task cards! Both perfect test practice for my kiddos when we come back from Spring Break.  Both products under $2 with the sale!!
Click HERE to check out Mary's store and all of the wonderful products she has to offer!

In honor of Easter I did want to have a little giveaway... It will begin tonight at midnight [4/1] and go until midnight [4/5].  I know tomorrow is April Fools, but I promise you, this giveaway is real :] I will be having a HUGE giveaway soon, but here is a mini one to say Happy Easter!!
You can win a $5 gift card to Starbucks and my current Spring Time Common Core Math Centers!

Happy Easter!!!

Happy Easter bloggers!!! I hope everyone has a wonderful day/night with their family and friends.  I am heading over to my parents in a few hours and I am excited to see them (and my pug Zoey!)
Does anyone ever get knots in their back from being on their laptop too long?  Well, that's definitely me yesterday and today..
I have uploaded 2 new products to TPT/Teacher's Notebook, and I am still working on my Back to School Teacher Unit :) It's already 30 pages, and I'm still going!

My first new product is a Addition and Subtraction Fractions Freebie - I included the lovely Graphics from the Pond - Check it out here on Teacher's Notebook, and here on Teachers Pay Teachers! If you like, please leave a comment :)
I have also created Daily 5 Choice Posters.. there are a lot of cute ones out there but I figured I'd jump on the band wagon and show off the cutest graphics from Scrappin Doodles and Graphics from the Pond.  You can find it here on TPT and here on Teacher's Notebook - only $1.00!

Here are some bulletin boards that I am currently using too :)

On another note, my boyfriend Mike and I (we are going on almost 2 1/2 years) we recently bought a cute teddy bear hamster!! We were shopping at the mall and went into the pet store and fell in love with him... there was also a panda bear hamster that I would've taken home in a heartbeat too.  It was difficult for me to make the decision because having a pet is expensive and we definitely have to watch our money, but he's just too darn cute!!

We take him out often so he gets used to being held, and he loves running in his ball, on his wheel, and eating apple jacks :) It's so cute how they stuff their food in their cheeks for later...

Introducing.. Pancake at 3 months old!

The Hunger Games and Updates :)

Hello all! I've missed everyone, but I have been oh so tired to do anything.. that's how I get on the weekends after busting my butt all week.  I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend - I did, but of course it went by ridiculously fast.

Just got back from seeing the Hunger Games :) Loved it! Of course, any book adds so much detail and you can travel inside the mind of a character and know their thoughts/feelings, etc. but they did a good job presenting it.  The only thing that really bothered me was how they portrayed the symbol of the mockingjay.  Did anyone else feel this way?
A few other things were different in the movie from the book, but that's how it always has been (like my favorite, the Harry Potter series).

What a wonderful 2 1/2 hours of my day though, indeed!

I thinking to myself, "Hmm, I haven't been getting a lot of sales on TPT/Teacher's Notebook lately" but then today when I got home and checked my email, I sold a bunch from TPT :) Very happy about that! I hope to strive to keep my sales going and just go up from here.
Thank you for all your love and support (and feedback!)

Don't forget to check out my Easter Unit since that is coming up :) Click the bunny below and check it out!

I had my staff development day this past Friday, and it was very informative about the Common Core - I am in the middle of creating activities for 2-4th grade based, but it probably won't be done for a while since 1. I want to take my time on it  2. I have no time :-P
My colleague Second Grade is Splendid presented one of the workshops, and she did a fabulous job - I am so grateful to be working with her this year, my first year teaching at my current school.  I am SURE you are already following her, but if you aren't, you have to check her blog out and all her ideas on TPT.. she's incredible.

CHECK OUT $1.00 E-BOOKS AND PRINTABLES THROUGH SCHOLASTIC! SALE ONLY UNTIL 3/28! Some really cute activities for all grade levels!

Hmm.. one last thing before I go!
Here are a few fantastic freebies that I have found useful and think are just adorable :)

3rd Grade Gridiron always makes the cutest math centers... check out this measurement freebie! Definitely in my center choices for April :)

A cute freebie from Lory Evans - subtraction math game!

And another great one from Amber Polk! She has the best products as well... this one is a cute multiplication Easter center matching the cracked eggs :)

Well that was a lot! I guess I should remember to blog more often ;) Take care everyone!! Feel free to comment! xoxo
