Currently, giveaway, and adopt a family

I love Farley's Currently's!! I am usually on top of this since it's only 2 days into the month, and GUESS WHAT... Farley already has over a HUNDRED bloggers that have already linked up!! I am SO very happy for her.. she's such a success ;) and a sweetheart! I not only love Farley for her talent and kooki-ness, but also for giving... she alwys makes sure us bloggers stick together and do things for each other which is SO important.  I hope you continue to read below how I am giving back to a family who really needs it and maybe you can help too!

There are also many wonderful giveaways going on right now.. tis the season!! One that I came across that I would be overjoyed to win is Katie from I Want to be a Super Teacher's giveaway!! 80 dollars worth of gift cards!!! She is so generous and has very generous teachers linking up as well!! This is one you won't want to miss :)

I would like to tell you about a family that my co-worker/friend Katrina works for. It is a small family, Cathy is a single mom, and she has a son, Walter who is a sixteen year old with autism.   Last year, Cathy was diagnosed with breast cancer and has been going through the difficulty of treatments ever since.  Living in and out of the hospital, she loves and does whatever she can to take care of her baby boy, Walter.  This Christmas, being a single mom going through cancer, she cannot afford much for Walter.  Walter is a sixteen year old but he has the mental capacity of a six year old right now and still enjoys toys just like any other 6 year old.  Cathy and Walter also had 3 cats, and had to get rid of 2 (heartbreakingly) because they couldn't afford the litter and food.
Honestly, my heart is broken right now because I will often complain that I don't have a good running car or make enough money to hardly get by, but this family REALLY needs love and support right now.  This Christmas, I want to give them both something under the tree.  They do receive food stamps, but it is not enough for a sixteen year old boy who loves to eat :) ANYTHING will help, and I want to make it a huge surprise when I bring over TONS of presents for this year... everything they need.. clothes, toys, food, and shampoo/conditioner/soap.
I know I just sponsored a fundraiser for the pug rescue, but please.. if you have any extra money, even 5 dollars which can even buy a sweatshirt at Walmart, please consider donating... I will take ALL the money and go to stores and get everything they need to make it a wonderful Christmas... Please make your donation to my paypal.  My e-mail address is Laur1110@yahoo.com I thank you SO much in advance... and if you have no money (like me) ;) then just keep them in your prayers... Christmas is about giving which is what I LOVE to do, but there is always prayer as well.  Thank you so much in advance..... and may God bless you all!!!!
**Donations are being accepted now until December 11th** THANK YOU!!!

  2. How is Insanity going? I just can't motivate myself to get back on the bandwagon. I just think about how hard it is. UGH! I need to have a mind switch and, like you, get healthy.

    1. Haha Steph, I completely understand.. I didn't do it at all last week. I need to really strive to do it 3 times a week at least... and maybe we can find a way to motivate each other.. like an incentive :) A big motivator that helps me (normally) is that I know I don't have to do the entire video.. if I do 25-30 minutes, it's something!!

    2. OMG. I am such a comment stalker..but I totally need to get motivated too! In January it'll probably be a goal of many to get in shape..we should talk about starting some kind of link up!! To keep us motivated and going with our workout routines and weight loss!! That would be just what I need!! :D

  3. Seems like we're all in the same boat. I, too, need to lose weight. I started Weight-loss Wednesdays on my blog to keep me accountable. I also saw this idea on Pinterest...every time you work out you put a dollar in a jar. Once you've reached your goal, you can use that money for buying a smaller wardrobe. I love it!

  4. Hi Laura
I shared your post and donated $10. I wish I could do more but money is tight for us right now. I would love to hear what you wind up buying for the family in need.
