Read Across America

Don't you just love that face?  We celebrated Read Across America last week in our K/1 classroom... and we had a lot of fun :) Besides making these adorable hats and ties, we also ate some green eggs and ham.  My favorite part?  The kiddos that didn't think they would like green eggs.. and they did ;)
Making these Thing 1 and Thing 2 puppets are one of my favorite activities to do on Dr. Seuss's birthday :) It is easy, and the kids love them!
I found these really cute Dr. Seuss pencil topper erasers, and after printing out a Dr. Seuss quote/picture tag from Cupcake Express, I placed them in a small baggie with their eraser.  Just a cute little something to end the celebration!

St. Patrick's Day is coming up! I have to tell you, The Teacher Wife has a wonderful freebie on TPT about who is worth more to you than gold?  It was a meaningful writing for my kids to complete so they could focus on the important things in life which was their family, friends, even their teacher ;) I loved reading each of them!
In my classroom, we have also been doing a lot of fun book projects.  I wrote up an ending prediction form for each student, and found this wonderful template on TPT of "A Bad Case of Stripes" by David Shannon.  Such a fun book!

I hope you are all having a great March :)
