Currently January 2015

2015... what a great number. I am a big fan of the #5 so I am hoping this will be a fantastic year for me... it's also the year I turn 30.  I should start making a bucket list of things I want to do before I am 30.. it'll help me stay motivated and live life a little more, you know what I mean? 

 

I am excited to link up with Farley from Oh' Boy 4th Grade with her first Currently of the year.

Our winter break was from 12/24-1/4.. such a nice vacation, but of course in the snap of a finger, it is almost coming to an end.  I think I would prefer to have our winter break before Christmas Eve and then go back earlier.  There's always so much to do before Christmas, and then it goes by so quickly.  

I am definitely wanting to lose weight before I go to Florida for a couple days in February.  Over the past year I have done great to maintain my current weight (I usually gain a few pounds every year...and not take it off lol) but it's time to LOSE :) And never find again! I have not been on a real vacation in years and I am so excited that Mike and I are going to Florida for 3 nights - short and sweet, but well worth it!  We are very lucky that Mike has great friends in Fl. to let us stay in their house.

I need to take Lily out more for walks - she loves the outdoors and it'll help me be not so lazy if I take her out more and get some exercise :) she is my love!

Yes - I will make healthier choices

Maybe - I will buy myself something once in a while or treat myself here and there

I wish I could have more time to do all the work I need to do and not work so hard every day - I will get there :) 2015 seems like a great year to start!

Currently June 2014

Oh, and we are in June... my last month of school, and my first year doing Kindergarten Graduation :] This is my 5th year teaching, and one of my favorites.  Going from teaching fourth grade to Kindergarten was such an easy transition.  No matter what, if they are 5 or 15, kids are kids.  And they are so fantastic... that's how I know that I'm doing what I should be - teaching and changing lives!

My sweet and wonderful mentor/co-worker/friend Mrs.Durning/Leander's Fairytale has an amazing opportunity with her husband for next year, and I can't tell you how much I am going to miss her - she's such a wonderful person!!  I didn't link up for May's Currently (shame on me!) But here is my June Currently from the wonderful Farley :] And psst.. I feel pretty special since I got to let Farley know that it was June 1st.. love her and this will always be my favorite link up!

My link up is pretty self explanatory ;) just excited to spend some time enjoying life and not working the longest days ever like I have been the past 5 years of my life... we all need some me time!

I just wanted to share our spring bulletin board (even though it's almost summer!) These freebies can be found here and here! :] I love the bunting letters because you can spell out whatever you want and make it your own... creativity is one of the reasons why I love teaching!

 Every month we have a new character trait.. last month was courage :] Here are some really cute books that teach children about courage! "Brave, Brave, Mouse" and "Small Florence" were my favorites!

 Check out these adorable frogs from Deanna Jump's Frog Unit... LOVE... Just sad that I STILL forgot to glue on the tongues ;) Oops! The kids loved them regardless, and loved writing about what they learned!

Our art teacher is doing a wonderful project with the kids and teachers where we draw a picture of what defines us... I drew a Lily (for my Lily) and two other flowers I represent as Mike and I.  I love birds too so I had to draw them.. but when I think of teaching, I think of growing as an educator and my sweet kids blossoming into life-long learners.  After all the squares are done, it is going to be made into a quilt for our school :]

 

I updated my Teacher Guide Unit because it's one of my earlier products that I made and I wanted to make it that much better... and I added tons of pages! This is perfect for a new (or newer) teacher for printables to be added to a teacher binder or labels to help you stay organized.

March Currently

I feel like I missed February's Currently because it seems like forever since I have gotten in touch with sweet Farley :] So excited to link up with her for the month of March.  Did you see her new blog design? Adorable...and The 3AM Teacher designed it, just like my beautiful blog.  She's awesome :]

 

Listening: Well, commercials are not on anymore, now it's the Big Bang Theory.  I make do with what I can with basic cable ;) I am usually just working up a storm anyways!

Loving: I am so happy to have the experience teaching Kindergarten. My class is so sweet and are making such growth.  I am so proud and love each of them!

Thinking: How was the TPT sale for you?? I definitely bought some great clipart and fonts so I am ready to CREATE.  Very excited and I hope that I can make some wonderful products for all of you to use!

Wanting: This is one is self explanatory... I can't get anything done in a day! ;)

Needing: I had a long chat with a great friend of mine, and I realized that I really do need to make a lifestyle change. So, it starts now.  I have never been successful to achieve my healthy goals, but I have a great feeling that if I use all the strength and willpower I have, I can do this.  

The answer to my question is 3 1/2 years...a little bit of a toughie, but I wanted to be creative!

We also did Christine Statzel's "Me on the Map" unit! Loved, loved, loved. So glad I purchased it... here is my lovely Cooper's amazing coloring and completion of some of the pages!

Currently for January

The start to a new year... 2014. Wow.. I remember when I was like "Oh my goodness, it's going to be the year 2000?" haha.. I was so young then. I have learned so much over the years and I am happy with what I know as an educator and creator of teaching products. Thank you for so many friendships and all of you supporting me and giving me the beautiful creations to help shape the minds of my students... Happy 2014! Currently for December and Cyber Sale

Hi friends :] So happy to be linking up with Farley for her amazing Currently linky... I cannot BELIEVE I missed last month's because November is my favorite month [fall, birthday, anniversary, Thanksgiving, getting ready for the holiday season...] but I must've been a little too busy!!

I do get to spend the holiday season with my little sheltie-pom Lily :] she will get many presents too!

Well, here we are in December already... I can tell by the weather and the excitement for the holidays to come... All my Christmas shopping is just about done and my presents are already wrapped [can you say ocd and excited?.. and broke?!] 

 

There are 2 different LED lights on our tree, and I fixed it to make them more even AFTER this picture was taken...grr.. but it's still beautiful and OURS :]

I guess my Currently responses speak for themselves.. I [puffy heart[ going to my parents the morning of Christmas.  It is like nothing has changed since I was younger :] I love the holidays and I only wish I had more to give, year after year.  Someday I will...

Last year was the first year I have done an Adopt a Family.  It was such a success that I decided to do it again and I choose a different family who really needs help this Christmas.. my favorite part is that they have NO idea that I have been shopping and getting donations for them :) A single mom with 4 sweet babies.. if you would like to help and learn more please click HERE to check out my post!

June Currently 2013

Hello loves! Farley from Oh Boy Fourth Grade has her wonderful June Currently up : ) June.. a month full of craziness for me to end the school year.. My last day is June 20th.  I can't believe it's almost here!

 

I know I may sound crazy, but I don't want this year to end.. I love my kiddos, but maybe it's because I work so much in the summer as well.  I definitely need to relax this summer and I am excited that I will finally make some time for myself.. but that isn't going to stop me from blogging and creating products ;) Sunscreen is a MUST to have on vacation to prevent skin cancer, wrinkles, and sunspots! I always love to take pictures on vacation so I make sure I bring my camera :) And music always makes the car trips easier!

May Currently... whoohoo! What a wonderful month.. I get to celebrate Mother's Day, Memorial Day, and the beautiful weather that we have been having.  I am not a southern girl so heat isn't my forte, but I would love if it were 50-85 degrees all year round! I think my perfect temp would be about 65-70.

PS-Memorial Day is going to be amazing because my school since it is private and we have had more than the minimum number of school days (we stayed open even when the public school that we follow was closed a few times grr) is having time off!! It's all worth it because now we have Fri, Mon, and Tues off! 5 day weekend whoooo.

I am a workaholic.. I admit it.  Until I am comfortable financially (which I am not), I feel the need to work 24-7 and that includes summers.... but even more than the school year.  How is that possible you say? I have no idea! But I do it.. and this summer I definitely want to try and relax a little bit.  I actually couldn't even tell you the definition of that word ;) pretty sad, huh? And since TPT and TN have started, it has helped me tremendously a dollar here or there (yes, I said 1 dollar... and that counts for something!) and I am addicted to creating units... I just finished my matter unit yesterday and I am already thinking, what's next? My summer bucket list better consist of a trip to somewhere... even just stay in Lake George which is 40 mins away from my house.  I wish I could go somewhere a little farther.. maybe someday!

Currently for March

I love the beginning of each month because all of us lovely bloggers get to participate in Farley's Currently Linky Party :] I think it is most likely the most successful linky party out there for teachers because she is oh so wonderful & it brings us all together with what we love, hate, wish, want, and need at the moment. I don't have cable, so when I come to my parent's house to do laundry [I still live in the same town as them!] I get to have my fulfillment of reality tv! Some of my favorites are on MTV and E! I love the Kardashians and fashion-type shows... so I am getting my Rachel Zoe Project fill :]

 

My gala is tonight for my school.  It is optional for the teachers to attend, but we all are so it should be a good time - I just like getting dressed up and pretty!

 

Thinking that I have no time [or strength in my hands] to continue to fix my older TPT/TN products, and create more. I need to though because I need a new car! You have no idea how old and beat up my car is, it's terrible.. but just can't afford it right now! If I can continue to create teacher products that are great for you, it'll help me with bills and expenses and all that for everyday life, and then I can THINK about getting a nicer used car ;]

 

I like smelly stickers and any smelly markers... they are so fun, even for the older kids!

I love animals.. every kind! My friend Sara Ventrella at Miss V's Busy Bees just got the most adorable pup, Tucker.. check him out here! She's my bestie :]

I hate disorganization... organization is such a love of mine.  Even though I may not always be the best at it, it makes me happy!....................................

 

Haha and I just realized that I did this "Like, love, and hate" wrong.. so my new pics are: lollipops, lists, and lateness! I like lollipops because they are yummy [cherry], I love lists and being organized, and I hate [including myself] when things are late!

Currently and Super Bowl Sale!

Even with all the busy-ness of my life, I always look forward to blogging for Farley's "Currently's." She is unbelievable and always brings us bloggy teachers together :) Join in on the fun by clicking HERE! I hope you are all enjoying the beginning of the month of February.  I actually feel like this is one of my busiest months.. doing more prepping my kiddos for the state tests.. superbowl [which last year was waaaay better with the giants ;) ]... valentine's day... michael's birthday [30 this year!]... and we just had our Catholic School Week! It was crazy busy--Hat day, Hawaiian day, Western day, School Spirit day, and Royal day.  The kids LOVED it and that's all that matters! (even if my throat does hurt).  February break is coming up... who's with me? Excited, and hoping that I get everything done that needs to be done so I can actually ENJOY it... but then again, that would be my first break ever ;)

Pet peeves - that was something to think about.  Lying is the worst thing, and my kiddos know it.. granted, they are 9 and 10 years old, but they know to tell me the truth because they will get less consequences if I find out that they lied to me about the situation.. oh boy! ;) I guess cheating goes along with lying.. only because, really? Just break up with the person!! I am seen too many people hurt by cheating.. messes up their whole lives and their children's lives.  If you are not happy, then communicate!... That is my rant about that.  And animals.. they are everything to me.  If I could, I would be vegetarian.  Here is my cute little Zoey.

I am currently working on a ELA Common Core Unit, and it's already 39 pages.. it will probably end up being around 100 I am sure, because there are not just readings and posters, but games with have lots of printables that after you print in color and laminate, can last you a very long time! I can't help but using color because the kids love it and it will last me years and years :) 

I am also trying to continue with my 90 day weight loss challenge.. it's almost been 3 full weeks.. I have NO idea where the time has gone.. My next weigh in is Monday so we will see if I lose any weight--I have lost a total of 3.5 pounds thus far which I am very proud of! I am also continuing Insanity, but only 4 times a week.. makes me feel strong.  I highly recommend it if you really want a hardcore challenge!



I wanted to show you my friend Holly (since Kindergarten)'s creation for a friend of mine.  ADORABLE! She actually started her business with making the most adorable bows, but now she is crocheting hats... look at this cute owl one she made for a toddler?? Currently for January 2013

Happy New Year everyone!! I wish you all a beautiful and bright 2013 ahead of you!
I am linking up with the wonderful & amazing Farley at Oh' Boy 4th Grade :) What a dolly she is having the most successful linky party each and every month for us... I love getting to know you all, and reading about old and new friends!

I am very sad Christmas is all over, but I am excited to have a new beginning... 2013 will be a great year for me, if I make it that way.  I often miss the little things, and take my life for granted, but I don't want to do that this year.  I want to be happy.... I want to love life, and not work day and night 7 days a week.  Somehow, I hope the money will come, and I can take a break from my many jobs.  We only get one life, and I want to embrace it and start "living", as I feel I have not in a long time. 

 

OLW: Heart.  I want to put my whole heart into the projects I take on, my teaching, my family, my friends, and the love of my life.  I also want to follow my heart to see where it takes me.  I am 27 years old, so I am certainly reaching a point in my life to make significant choices and think about the future. 

 

I wanted to share a picture with you all, of my boyfriend and I from last night.  I wanted to recreate one of the very first pictures Mike and I ever took together, that has been one of my favorites!  I think this is such a cute idea to do in the future as well when we are older.  I saw the idea on pinterest ;)

 

I love Farley's Currently because it allows me to reflect on my own life and what is important to me.  I will be doing just that in 2013... I wish you all a wonderful year as well XOXO
